Tell Me Where Home Is 

Concepts of home (Heimat, or in plural, Heimaten) have long since ceased to refer only to a physical place. How do people find and form a sense of home in our fast-paced, ever-changing societies? The urgency of this global question is reflected throughout twenty-first-century art, where many artists explore themes of home, migration, and belonging.  

Bringing together over 70 artistic perspectives, 11 contributions from internationally renowned authors, and 55 artist statements, this publication explores the manifold dimensions of home in our globalized and digitalized world through analytical, interdisciplinary, and future-oriented perspectives. 

The exhibition Tell Me Where Home Is will be on view at the Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg from September 19, 2026, through January 17, 2027.
